Cicloestrimicos is an innovative theatrical project created for streaming in November 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conceived by Josefina Pieres and Julieta Nair Calvo, this pioneering project brought together a talented group of actors, who were directed live by Josefina Pieres. The aim was to reinterpret musical songs with creative costume changes and diverse settings, using wide screens as a virtual stage.
The essence of Cicloestrimicos lies in its creativity and adaptability. Actors, from their own spaces, transformed their environments into a broad theatrical set, utilizing wide screens to create a virtual stage. With constant costume changes and varied backdrops, each song was visually reimagined, providing the audience with a dynamic and surprising theatrical experience.
Josefina Pieres' live direction ensured that each performance retained the energy and emotion of traditional theater, despite the physical distance. Cicloestrimicos not only adapted to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic but also explored new ways to connect with the audience, demonstrating that art and innovation can thrive even in challenging times.
Produced by Pequeños Pasos, all proceeds from Cicloestrimicos were donated to the foundation. This project became a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity, offering an artistic and emotional respite during a period of global uncertainty. Cicloestrimicos was more than just a reinterpretation of songs; it was a celebration of theater and its ability to adapt and reinvent itself.
